Round rivet nuts, a type of blind fastener, are designed to form a threaded insert within thin sheet materials. They find frequent use in the automotive, furniture, and appliance industries where access to only one side of the material is possible. Characterized by a round body with a threaded insert, the rivet nut body is placed into a hole in the material and then expanded with a rivet nut tool. This process widens the rivet nut's body, resulting in a solid, long-lasting bond.
